Fitch affirms Santander Consumer

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Santander Consumer Bank AG's long-term issuer default rating at A- and short-term issuer default rating at F2.

The outlook is stable.

The agency also affirmed the viability rating at a-.

Fitch said the issuer default ratings are driven by both Santander Consumer Bank’s standalone strength as captured by its viability rating, and institutional support.

The ratings also reflect a view that if needed, Santander Consumer Bank’s ultimate parent, Banco Santander, SA (A-/stable/F2/a-), would be extremely likely to provide support, the agency added.
