Black Elk Energy approved to extend exclusivity period to March 10

Bethlehem, Pa., Feb. 11 – Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations LLC received court authorization to extend its exclusive period for filing a Chapter 11 plan, according to an order filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

The company’s exclusive filing period was extended through March 10 from Feb. 22.

A hearing to determine whether a further extension should be granted is also scheduled for March 10.

Black Elk Energy is a Houston-based oil and gas company that filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 15. The Chapter 11 case number is 15-34287.
