Umicore sells €360 million oversubscribed bonds; Helma settles €27 million notes

Knoxville, Tenn., May 18 – Thursday brought two new private placements: Bruxelles, Belgium, global materials technology group Umicore SA said it completed a €360 million “significantly oversubscribed” private placement of bonds and Lehrte, Germany, residential building designer and builder Helma Eigenheimbau AG said its subsidiary Helma Wohnungsbau GmbH concluded a €27 million private placement of promissory notes.

Umicore

J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and MUFG were the agents on the Umicore issue.

The €160 million first-tranche note is due in December 2027.

The €200 million second-tranche note is due in December 2029.

Proceeds will be used to fund Umicore's strategic growth initiatives and refinance part of its existing debt.

Helma

Sparkasse Hannover and UniCredit were joint arrangers of the Helma issuances.

The note will be guaranteed by the parent.

The company sold notes in two fixed-rate tranches with maturities of five and seven years.

Proceeds will be used for future growth.
