Fitch rates Suzano notes BBB-

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a BBB- rating to the proposed senior unsecured sustainability-linked notes due 2031 to be issued by Suzano Austria GmbH and guaranteed by Suzano SA.

“The sustainability-linked securities framework establishes a greenhouse gas emissions intensity reduction target, with an interest rate step-up if Suzano fails to meet the target,” Fitch said in a press release.

Proceeds will be used for the purchase of the senior unsecured notes due 2024 and 2025, both issued by Fibria Overseas, and the senior unsecured notes due 2026 issued by Suzano Austria, all guaranteed by Suzano.

Fitch currently rates Suzano’s foreign currency and local currency issuer default ratings BBB- with a negative outlook.
