Erin Energy Chapter 11 bankruptcy case converted Friday to Chapter 7

Pittsburgh, July 13 – Erin Energy Corp.’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy case was converted to Chapter 7, according to an order filed late Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

The case was converted effective at 10 a.m. ET on Friday.

Erin Energy was granted approval to use existing cash on hand before the conversion time to meet payroll and pay related taxes.

The DIP lender was ordered to provide $458,000 for use by the Chapter 7 trustee.

Based in Houston, Erin Energy is an explorer, developer and producer of oil and gas. The company filed bankruptcy on April 25 under Chapter 11 case number 18-32106.
