Fitch gives BBB+ to S&P Global notes

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a BBB+ rating to S&P Global, Inc.'s announced issuance of $500 million of senior unsecured notes due 2027.

Net proceeds are to be used to repay $400 million of existing 5.9% senior unsecured notes maturing in November 2017 and for general corporate purposes.

The outlook is stable.

Fitch said it recognizes the diversification of S&P, with more than half of revenues and EBITDA coming from outside the ratings business. The diversification and strength of the other businesses provides S&P with the flexibility to absorb negative performance or changes in the ratings business.
