Fitch affirms Bharti

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Bharti Airtel Ltd.'s long-term foreign currency issuer default rating at BB+.

The outlook is stable.

Fitch said that Bharti's rating reflects its entrenched position in the Indian telecommunications sector, with integrated operations spanning cellular, wireline, consumer broadband and enterprise services.

Its profile is becoming increasingly diversified, with plans to launch new services such as direct-to-home satellite services and Internet Protocol Television services by end-FY08, the agency noted.
