S&P rates Bertin notes B+

Standard & Poor's said it assigned its B+ senior unsecured debt rating to Bertin Ltda.'s proposed $150 million, 10-year senior unsecured notes to be issued under Rule 144A.

The proceeds will be used to refinance short-term debt maturities, to fund capital expenditures and for other general corporate purposes, the agency said.

S&P added that Bertin's initiative to use long-term debt instruments to fund its growth plans partly mitigates the risks associated with the company's currently highly leveraged capital structure, providing appropriate time for the cash flows of its investments to materialize.
