Noranda Aluminum sees operating loss grow to $14.02 million in July

Pittsburgh, Sept. 2 – Noranda Aluminum Inc. reported a $14.02 million operating loss for July on $70.1 million in sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.

Those figures showed a decline from the $10.6 million operating loss posted for June on $72.11 million in sales.

The net loss for July was $12.83 million, widening from an $11.95 million June net loss.

In addition, Noranda had $24.22 million in cash as of July 31, up from $22.26 million at the end of June.

Noranda is a Franklin, Tenn., producer of primary aluminum and rolled aluminum coils. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 8, 2016 under Chapter 11 case number 16-10083.
