Sundevil Power granted two-month extension of exclusive plan periods

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 7 – Sundevil Power Holdings, LLC received court approval to extend its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to an order filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company’s exclusive filing period was extended through Aug. 9 from June 10 and the solicitation period through Oct. 17 from Aug. 9.

“At this juncture in their cases, the debtors believe that it is highly prudent, and appropriate from a cost-benefit standpoint, to seek a further extension of the exclusive periods,” the motion said.

“Under the circumstances of these cases, the plan process could only begin in earnest after the sales process was near completion.”

Wayzata, Minn.-based Sundevil Power operates gas-fired power plants in Gila Bend, Ariz. The company filed bankruptcy on Feb. 11 under Chapter 11 case number 16-10369.
