Louisiana Pellets project bond trustee announces $523,522 in liens

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Jan. 14 – Louisiana Pellets, Inc.’s Louisiana Public Facilities Authority solid waste disposal facility revenue bonds trustee said mechanics and materialman’s liens have been filed against the Louisiana Pellets project site.

In a letter released as part of a notice from bond trustee Wells Fargo Bank, NA, Louisiana Pellets’ counsel said the liens were filed by Lipper Stutsman Co. Inc., Ruston Glass and Mirror Co. Inc. and Tank Connection.

As required by the bond loan agreement, the letter said Louisiana Pellets is attempting to have the liens bonded or released by Jan. 27 in the case of the Lipper and Tank Connection liens and Jan. 29 in the case of the Ruston lien.

Specifically, Lipper Stutsman said it is owed $54,945 for labor, materials, equipment and supplies related to the project, Ruston claims it is owed $174,500 for materials, equipment, supplies and installation, and Tank Connection claims it is owed $349,022 for equipment, work, labor, services and/or material delivered as part of the project.

As previously reported, the construction manager for the Louisiana Pellets project said that there are very few personnel at the project site and that the electricity was turned off at the project as of Dec. 22. The trustee said the company’s counsel confirmed that the project is not operational.
