Macintosh Retail eyes payment suspension lift, bankruptcy decision

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Dec. 29 – Macintosh Retail Group NV’s administrators asked the court of first instance in Limburg, location Maastricht, to withdraw the granted suspension of payments to Macintosh and to simultaneously decide on the filing of bankruptcy for the company, according to a news release.

The company said the suspension of payments in connection with Dolcis BV, Invito BV, Hoogenbosch Retail Group BV, Manfield BV and PRO sport BV is still in force.

Macintosh said no requests for suspension of payments have been filed for Scapino BV (Netherlands), and no request for the application of the Continuity of Enterprises Act has been made for Brantano NV (Belgium).

According to the release, all shops and stores of the Macintosh group are open, and the administrators, together with the relevant management boards, are exploring all possible scenarios, including a sale of the group as a whole or in parts.

Macintosh is a Maastricht-Airport, Netherlands-based retailer.
