S&P suspends Belarus ratings

S&P said it suspended its long-term SD foreign-currency and CCC local-currency sovereign credit ratings on the Republic of Belarus due to a lack of enough and timely information to maintain the ratings.

“For example, we lack data on the government's budgetary performance, the composition of its debt stock, and its debt repayment schedule.

“We will resume our surveillance and reinstate the ratings if the missing data becomes available and we conclude that it meets our standards for quantity, timeliness, and reliability,” S&P said in a press release.
