LB Steel gets court approval to extend exclusivity periods by 60 days

By Mark Reccek

Bethlehem, Pa., Jan. 20 – LB Steel LLC was granted court authorization to extend its exclusive Chapter 11 plan filing and vote solicitation periods, according to an order filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The company's exclusive filing period was extended through April 18 and the solicitation period through June 17.

As previously reported, LB Steel said the extensions are needed to allow it more time to prepare and file a reorganization plan and disclosure statement.

LB Steel is a Harvey, Ill.-based producer of strip plate mills. The company filed bankruptcy on Oct. 18 under Chapter 11 case number 15-35358.
