BearingPoint secures exclusivity extension to confirm consensual plan

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Oct. 29 - BearingPoint, Inc. obtained an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to Dec. 30 from Oct. 16 and the solicitation period to Feb. 28 from Dec. 15.

As previously reported, the company has already filed a proposed plan of reorganization and related disclosure statement, according to the motion.

"The extension of the exclusive periods will facilitate the formulation, confirmation and consummation of a consensual Chapter 11 plan," BearingPoint said.

BearingPoint, a McLean, Va.-based provider of management and technology consulting services, filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 18, 2009. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10691.
