Chapter 7 trustee: Former Blockbuster’s estate now fully administered

Pittsburgh, April 18 – The Chapter 7 trustee for BB Liquidating, Inc., formerly Blockbuster, Inc., said the company’s estate has been fully administered, according to a final report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

As a result, Chapter 7 trustee Robert L. Geltzer is asking to be discharged from his duties.

According to the report, $2.16 million was distributed to BB Liquidating’s creditors, $542,725 in administration expenses was paid, and $110,493 in assets were abandoned.

A total of $2.7 million in gross receipts were received from liquidation of estate property.

Blockbuster was a Dallas-based provider of in-home movies and game entertainment. It filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 23, 2010. The Chapter 7 case number is 10-14997.
