A&P reports $26.75 million net loss for July 19 through Aug. 15 period

Pittsburgh, Sept. 16 – The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., Inc. (A&P) reported a $26.75 million net loss for the period of July 19 through Aug. 15 on $362.77 million in sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Sept. 15 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The company had $201.67 million in cash and cash equivalents as of Aug. 15.

Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea, a Montvale, N.J.-based supermarket chain, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 12, 2010. Its Chapter 11 case number is 10-24549.
