Fitch gives Baxter notes A

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an A rating to Baxter International Inc.'s proposed debt offering of 10-year senior unsecured notes.

Baxter intends to use the net proceeds from the sale for general corporate purposes, which may include the repayment of outstanding indebtedness and certain net investment hedges, the agency added.

The rating reflects Baxter's continued improvement in its operating performance and its strong credit metrics, Fitch noted.
