Schroder Short Duration Bond Fund announces plans to launch

By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., June 9 – Schroder Series Trust announced in an N-1A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission its plans to offer a new investment-grade, fixed-income fund.

The Schroder Short Duration Bond Fund will seek long-term total return consistent with the preservation of capital by investing primarily in a portfolio of dollar-denominated, investment-grade, fixed-income securities. Under normal market conditions, the fund seeks to maintain an average effective portfolio duration that is within plus or minus one-half year of the duration of the fund’s benchmark, the BofA Merrill Lynch 1-3 Year Treasury Bond index.

The portfolio management team is comprised of Andrew B.J. Chorlton, Edward H. Jewett, Richard A. Rezek, Jr., Neil G. Sutherland and Julio C. Bonilla.

The fund will offer investor shares and R6 shares. The ticker symbols have not been set.

There will be no shareholder fees. Including management fees of 0.29% and taking into account the effects of a fee waiver and expenses reimbursement agreement, net annual fund operating expenses are expected to be 0.39% for R6 shares and 0.54% for investor shares.

New York-based Schroder Investment Management NA Inc. is the investment adviser to the fund.
