El Paso Children’s Hospital gets interim access to cash collateral

By Kali Hays

New York, May 22 – El Paso Children’s Hospital Corp. received interim access to its pre-bankruptcy lenders’ cash collateral on Friday, according to an order from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas.

A final hearing is set for June 4.

Without access to the collateral, the company would not be able to pay its operational expenses or pay professionals related to its bankruptcy case, according to the order.

Lenders with secured interests on the collateral are Cardinal Health, Inc, AmerisourceBergen Drug Corp. and ASD Specialty Healthcare.

Based in El Paso, Texas, El Paso Children’s Hospital provides pediatric patient care, research and education services. The hospital filed for bankruptcy on May 19 under the Chapter 11 case number 15-30784.
