S&P rates Wheeling Power BBB

Standard & Poor’s said it assigned a BBB corporate credit rating to Wheeling Power Co.

The outlook is positive.

The rating reflects Wheeling’s strong business risk profile and significant financial risk profile, S&P said.

The ratings also consider the company’s limited scale, scope and diversity in comparison to its peers among integrated regulated utilities, leading to a standalone credit profile of BBB-, the agency said.
