Latham & Watkins hires Jirasarunya, Soysa as counsel in Singapore

By Tali Rackner

Minneapolis, June 15 – Latham & Watkins LLP announced that Monsiree Jirasarunya and Shihani Soysa joined the firm’s Singapore office as counsel in its corporate department, according to a press release.

Their practices focus on capital markets and corporate finance transactions, including advising issuers and underwriters in public and private securities offerings.

Jirasarunya joins from the London office of Ropes & Gray LLP. She has experience advising public and private multinational corporations, private equity sponsors, financial institutions and private capital providers in a broad range of corporate securities and capital markets offerings, liability management transactions, bank and acquisition financings, structured financings and debt restructurings, the release said.

Soysa comes from Wells Fargo in New York, where she was capital markets counsel covering the equity capital markets business of Wells Fargo Securities. She has experience advising issuers and underwriters in a variety of debt and equity capital markets transactions, particularly in the U.S. capital markets.

The two will be part of the firm’s capital markets practice.

“Monsiree and Shihani further bolster our Asia capital markets and public company representation capability. We continue to see an increasing sophistication and complexity of deals across Asia and their expertise complements our talented team on the ground,” Michael Sturrock, vice chair of Latham & Watkins’ global corporate department, said in the release.

“In addition, their substantive capital markets expertise and deep understanding of the markets in Thailand and India – two of the most exciting economies in Asia – will be a great asset to our clients.”

Latham & Watkins is a law firm with offices in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.
