Latham & Watkins announces opening of office in Seoul, South Korea

Norfolk, Va., Oct. 27 – Latham & Watkins LLP announced the opening of an office in Seoul, South Korea, according to a press release.

The new office will strengthen the company’s ties to Korean clients and its capabilities in Asia and globally.

Joseph Bevash will be office managing partner in Seoul. Bevash has more than 20 years of experience in the Asia-Pacific region, including working with South Korean clients on ground-breaking project finance matters throughout the region and globally, the release said. He is also office managing partner in Tokyo.

Sungjin Kang will lead the project finance practice in Seoul together with Bevash, and Helena Kim will lead the corporate practice.

“The opening of an office in Seoul is a key development in the firm’s global expansion. Seoul is one of Asia’s leading financial centers and an engine of economic growth, with strong and growing importance globally,” Latham chair and managing partner Bill Voge said in the release.

“The addition of a Seoul office will further enhance our practice and platform in the region and around the world.”

Latham & Watkins is a law firm with offices in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.
