OPIC unveils program to match project developers with capital providers
By Lisa Kerner
Charlotte, N.C., March 27 – The Overseas Private Investment Corp. (OPIC) launched the Aligned Capital Pilot Program, “a pilot program to assemble complementary financial instruments to better catalyze capital for global development.”
The new voluntary program is designed to “link project developers with capital providers to help projects progress and achieve their intended positive development impact,” according to a news release.
Contacts will be facilitated by an online platform available to both eligible investors and OPIC project applicants, the release said.
Participants are matched through an automated connection process that identifies interests by regions and sectors.
OPIC, the U.S. government’s development finance institution, said the program is accepting applications from accredited investors and project sponsors interested in additional investment.
Accredited investors or project developers who would like to learn more or participate in the OPIC Aligned Capital program can visit www.opic.gov.
