S&P drops Ally, Equity Commonwealth preferreds from index after call

New York, May 3 – S&P Dow Jones Indices said that one series of preferred stock from each of Ally Financial Inc. and Equity Commonwealth will be removed from the S&P U.S. Preferred Stock Index after the issuers announced they will be redeemed.

Ally Financial’s series A fixed-to-floating-rate perpetual preferred stock and Equity Commonwealth’s 7.25% series E cumulative redeemable preferred shares trading under the symbol “EQC Pr E” will both be removed from the benchmark at the close of trading on May 13.

Equity Commonwealth previously announced that its series E preferreds will be redeemed on May 15, and Ally announced its preferreds will be redeemed on May 16.
