Barneys New York says cyber attack delayed release of monthly results

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Jan. 16 – Barneys New York Inc. did not include income/loss, revenue or cash balance results in the monthly operating report it filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The company said in the report that it suffered a cyber attack on Dec. 29 that affected some of its information and technology systems.

As a result, Barneys said it has been unable to generate some financial reports that would otherwise be included with the monthly report.

According to the report, the company will supplement the information filed Wednesday when those financial reports are available.

Barneys is a New York-based luxury specialty retailer. The company filed bankruptcy on Aug. 6 under Chapter 11 case number 19-36300.
