Barnes & Noble shareholder Yucaipa ups ownership interest to 17.8%

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 17 - A group of Barnes & Noble, Inc. investors led by Yucaipa American Management, LLC bought 450,000 shares of the company's stock on Nov. 16 for $20.48 per share, according to a schedule 13D/A filed on Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The investors also reported an additional purchase of 161,000 shares on Nov. 13 for $19.98 each.

Between Oct. 19 and Nov. 13, Yucaipa bought 5,028,900 shares priced from $17.32 to $20.38 each for a 16.8% ownership interest, a prior SEC filing said.

Yucaipa beneficially owns 10,241,213 shares, or 17.8%, of the New York-based bookseller.
