BMR Energy announces project financing totaling $62.7 million for wind project in Jamaica

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 26 – BMR Energy, LLC secured a total of $62.7 million in project financing for its 36 MW wind generation project in Jamaica.

The financing package consists of a $42.7 million senior loan from Overseas Private Investment Corp., a $10 million senior loan from International Finance Corp. and a $10 million loan from the IFC-Canada Climate Change Program, according to a news release.

BMR Energy will use the proceeds of the financing, plus its $26.9 million equity investment, to construct a new wind farm near Kingston, Jamaica. The wind farm is expected to be completed in early 2016.

BMR Energy, based in New York, is focused on the development of and/or investment in energy infrastructure projects in the Caribbean, Latin America and Mexico.
