Moody’s might cut Atlantia debt

Moody’s Investors Service said it placed under review for downgrade the Baa3 senior unsecured rating of Atlantia SpA.

Concurrently, Moody's placed under review for downgrade the Baa2 issuer and senior unsecured ratings of Autostrade per l'Italia SpA.

Moody's also placed under review for downgrade the Baa2 senior unsecured and underlying senior secured ratings of Aeroporti di Roma SpA.

The agency said the action follows the publication on July 2 of a legal report commissioned by the Italian Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, assessing options in respect of the future of the ASPI concession following the collapse of the Polcevera viaduct in August 2018.

“Whilst the report includes various caveats, highlighting potential risks associated with the implementation of some of its conclusions, recent developments result in heightened downside risks for the ASPI concession, as reflected in the review for downgrade,” the agency said in a news release.
