Suntech America gets approval to extend exclusivity periods 120-days

Bethlehem, Pa., Jan. 8 – Suntech America, Inc. obtained court approval to extend its exclusive Chapter 11 plan filing and vote solicitation periods, according to an order filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company's exclusive filing period was extended through May 6 from Jan. 7 and the solicitation period through July 7, 2016 from March 9.

As previously reported, Suntech said the extensions will give it time to focus on confirming the combined plan and disclosure statement.

Suntech America is a San Francisco-based producer of solar panels that filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 12, 2015. The Chapter 11 case number is 15-10054.
