Barclays plans one-year buffered return enhanced notes tied to S&P 500

Chicago, Feb. 10 – Barclays Bank plc plans to price 0% buffered return enhanced notes due March 1, 2017 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.5 times any gain in the index, up to a maximum return of 13.425%.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and will lose 1.1111% for every 1% decline beyond 10%.

Barclays is the underwriter, with J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA as placement agents.

The notes will price on Feb. 12 and settle on Feb. 18.

The Cusip number is 06741U5G5.
