New Issue: Barclays prices $797,000 callable contingent payment notes tied to Gold Miners ETF

By Marisa Wong

Madison, Wis., Oct. 31 - Barclays Bank plc priced $797,000 of callable contingent payment notes due Oct. 31, 2019 linked to the Market Vector Gold Miners exchange-traded fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Each quarter, the notes pay a contingent coupon at an annualized rate of 10% if the ETF's shares close above the barrier level, 60% of the initial share price, on the valuation date for that quarter.

The payout at maturity will be par unless the ETF finishes below the barrier level, in which case investors will be fully exposed to losses.

Beginning Oct. 28, 2014, the notes will be callable at par plus the contingent coupon, if any, on any interest payment date.

Barclays is the agent.
