New Issue: Barclays prices $1 million protected notes linked to S&P 500

San Diego, Sept. 29 - Barclays Bank plc priced $1 million of 0% notes due Oct. 3, 2017 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the final index level is greater than the initial level, the payout at maturity will be par plus the index return, subject to a maximum return of 80%.

Investors will receive a minimum of par should the index decline.

Barclays Capital Inc. is the agent.
