By Susanna Moon

Chicago, July 2 - Barclays Bank plc plans to price 0% return optimization securities with contingent protection due July 31, 2013 based on the performance of an international fund basket, according to an FWP with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The basket consists of the iShares MSCI EAFE index fund with a 70% weight and the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets index fund with a 30% weight.

UBS Financial Services Inc. and Barclays Capital Inc. are the underwriters.

The payout at maturity will be par of $10 plus 1.5 times any gain in the basket, up to a maximum return of 68% to 78%. The exact cap will be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the basket falls by up to 40% and will share fully in losses if the basket declines beyond 40%.

The notes will price on July 27 and settle on July 30.
