DBRS confirms Barclays

DBRS said it confirmed Barclays Bank plc's AA (high) long-term debt rating.

The trend remains negative, reflecting the uncertainties in the economic and regulatory environment, according to the agency.

The confirmation considers the company's 2009 performance, its near-to-intermediate term prospects and the current operating environment, the agency said.

Maintaining solid asset quality metrics and solid profitability continues to be a challenge, the agency noted.
