Barclays to price principal-protected notes tied to S&P BRIC 40 index

Tacoma, Wash., Feb. 3 - Barclays Bank plc plans to price zero-coupon 100% principal-protected notes due Feb. 29, 2016 linked to the S&P BRIC 40 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus the index return, subject to a maximum return of 51% to 60% and a floor of par. The exact cap will be set at pricing.
The notes will price Feb. 23 and settle Feb. 26.
