By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., Jan. 6 - Barclays Bank plc plans to price variable-coupon principal-protected notes due Jan. 29, 2015 linked to a basket of common stocks, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The equally weighted basket includes Amazon.com, Inc., Celgene Corp., EOG Resources, Inc., Newmont Mining Corp., News Corp., PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., Schlumberger NV (Schlumberger Ltd.), UnitedHealth Group Inc., U.S. Bancorp and Yahoo! Inc.

The notes will pay a coupon in January of each year equal to the average of the basket stocks' returns, subject to a floor of zero. The return of each basket stock will be subject to a cap of 10% to 15%, with the exact cap to be set at pricing.

The payout at maturity will be par.

The notes will price Jan. 26 and settle Jan. 29.
