Barclays to sell principal-protected notes tied to Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50

Tacoma, Wash., Sept. 2 - Barclays Bank plc plans to price zero-coupon 100% principal-protected notes due Sept. 22, 2011 linked to the Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 125% of any index gain, subject to a maximum return that is expected to be 21.25% to 25% and will be set at pricing. Investors will receive at least par.

The notes are expected to price on Sept. 17 and settle on Sept. 22.

Barclays Capital Inc. will be the agent.
