New Issue: Barclays prices $1 million principal-protected notes linked to Nikkei 225

Tacoma, Wash., May 15 - Barclays Bank plc priced $1 million of zero-coupon 100% principal-protected notes due Nov. 20, 2012 linked to the Nikkei 225 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus any index gain, subject to a maximum return of 44%. Investors will receive at least par.
