Barclays plans principal protected notes linked to AT&T

Des Moines, Feb. 20 - Barclays Bank plc plans to price 100% principal protected notes due Feb. 27, 2009 linked to common stock of AT&T Inc., according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the stock stays within 12% of its initial level during the life of the notes, the payout at maturity will be 112% of par.

Otherwise, the payout will be par.

The notes are expected to price on Feb. 22 and settle on Feb. 29.
