Barclays ETNs to move to NYSE Arca

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., Oct. 2 - Barclays Bank plc said it will transfer its Barclays GEMS index exchange-traded notes and iPath CBOE S&P 500 BuyWrite index ETNs to the NYSE Arca from the American Stock Exchange on or around Oct. 31.

Because of the planned merger of Amex and NYSE Euronext, all Amex-listed ETNs and exchange-traded funds are expected to be transferred to NYSE Arca by the end of October.

NYSE Euronext believes that offering a single platform for listing and trading ETFs and ETNs will further improve efficiencies and market quality, according to a Barclays news release.

Barclays is a financial services provider based in London.
