Barclays to price principle-protected notes linked to General Electric

New York, Jan. 28 - Barclays Bank plc plans to price principle-protected notes due Feb. 4, 2009 linked to General Electric Co. common stock, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

There is a conditional coupon of 10% that will be paid if the share price stays within the barriers, 13.25% above and below the initial level, during the life of the notes. Otherwise, investors will receive par.

The notes will price on Feb. 1 and settle on Feb. 6.
