By Laura Lutz

Des Moines, April 19 - Barclays Bank plc plans to arrange an issue of zero-coupon principal-protected notes due Oct. 28, 2010 linked to a basket of commodities, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The underlying basket includes equal weights of aluminum, gasoline RBOB, natural gas, nickel and silver.

If the basket performance is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus the basket return. Investors will receive at least par.

The notes will price on April 25 and settle on April 30.

Barclays Capital will be the agent.
