By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., March 13 – The board of trustees of Loomis Sayles Funds II approved on Friday the liquidation of the Loomis Sayles International Bond Fund, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The liquidation is expected to take place May 15.

The fund seeks high total investment through a combination of high current income and capital appreciation by investing at least 80% of its net assets in fixed-income securities. The fund invests at least 65% of its net assets in fixed-income securities of issuers located outside the United States and invests primarily in investment-grade securities.

Boston-based Loomis, Sayles & Co., LP is the investment adviser.
