S&P lifts Acument

Standard & Poor's said it raised its corporate credit rating on Acument Global Technologies Inc. to B from B- and removed the rating from Creditwatch with positive implications.

At the same time, the agency said it withdrew the issue-level rating on Acument's senior secured debt.

The outlook is stable.

"The upgrade reflects the company's improved financial risk profile following the sale of its Avdel and GEC business units," said credit analyst Sarah Wyeth.

"The company has minimal debt outstanding after the paydown of its $325 million senior secured term. This meaningful debt reduction improves Acument's financial leverage metrics and reduces the likelihood that the company could have difficulty meeting financial covenants in 2011."
