Moody’s eyes Kazakh banks for trim

Moody’s Investors Service said it placed the debt ratings of three Kazakhstan banks on review for possible downgrade.

The decision to review the banks reflects a possibly serious deterioration in the operating environment on the back of riots and the authorities' reaction to them that may lead to greater turmoil than in the past, and recent disruptions in bank operations in the country, Moody’s said.

The banks are Bank CenterCredit, Halyk Savings Bank of Kazakhstan and Kaspi Bank JSC.
