Sky Solar to receive $85 million to fund solar energy plants in Uruguay

Charlotte, N.C., July 9 – Sky Solar Holdings, Ltd. secured a $55.7 million loan from the Inter-American Development Bank to finance the construction, operation and maintenance of six photovoltaic solar energy plants and their related facilities in Uruguay. The plants have a total installed capacity of 82 MW.

In addition, the China Co-Financing Fund and the Canadian Climate Fund for the Private Sector, both administered by IDB, will provide additional loans of $19.3 million and $10 million, respectively, according to a news release.

“We are very pleased to have secured financing from the IDB and its affiliated funds for this major project in Uruguay as we continue to expand our operations and pipeline in the Latin America region,” said Sky Solar chairman and chief executive officer Weili Su.

Sky Solar is a green energy provider is based in Hong Kong.
