New Issue: RBC sells $3.84 million contingent coupon barrier autocallables on Discover

By Wendy Van Sickle

Columbus, Ohio, Dec. 11 – Royal Bank of Canada priced $3.84 million of autocallable contingent coupon barrier notes due Nov. 30, 2023 linked to the common stock of Discover Financial Services, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will pay a contingent quarterly coupon at an annual rate of 11.85% if the stock closes at or above its 60% coupon barrier on the observation date for that quarter.

The notes will be automatically called at par plus the coupon if the stock closes above its initial share price on any quarterly call observation date starting May 25, 2021.

The payout at maturity will be par unless the stock finishes below its 60% knock-in level, in which case investors will be fully exposed to the loss.
