Mississippi Phosphates operating loss up to $5.9 million in February

New York, March 19 – Mississippi Phosphates Corp. marked an operating loss of $5.9 million for February on $275,000 in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed March 19 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the southern District of Mississippi.

In January, the company reported an operating loss of $3 million on net sales of $141,000.

Mississippi Phosphates’ net loss for February was $5.68 million, increasing from $3.16 million in February.

The company had available cash holdings of $1.19 million at Feb. 28, down from $2.34 million at Jan. 31.

Mississippi Phosphates, a Pascagoula, Miss.-based fertilizer company, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 27. The Chapter 11 case number is 14-51667.
