S&P gives Bank of China MTNs A

S&P said it gave Bank of China Ltd. Paris Branch’s planned green bond an A rating. The notes will be a drawdown from its $40 billion medium-term note program.

“The rating on the notes reflects our long-term issuer credit rating on China-based BOC (A/stable/A-1) . We view the creditworthiness of the bank's branches as equal to that of the bank,” S&P said in a press release.

The Paris branch will use proceeds to finance biodiversity-related eligible green projects as defined in the bank's sustainability series bonds management statement.
